‘Fractured’ is a series of images of display dolls that play with the idea of the body as an object.

The doll is a substitute for the human body, which decays and fractures with the passing of time and events.  The image attempts to use the visual decay as a metaphor for the fractured mind or fractured self-image.

The dolls are being recorded in a human likeness, and the ambiguity of their authenticity stems  from the fact they could be accepted as real people except for the visual decay. It is the real informing the unreal, informing the real.
